# Obento AGENTS.md

> Obento puts USDC to work on Base. Autopilot lends deposits across vetted lending markets on Base and moves them when rates change. No lockups, and one fee: 10% of new lending profit.

This is the entry point for agents. Read Obento's live state from its API, put idle USDC on Base to work through the vault's gateway, and take it back out when you need it.

## Connect over MCP

- `https://obentoapp.com/mcp`: a Model Context Protocol server, Streamable HTTP, no key or account. Tools: `vault_status`, `position`, `autopilot_journal`, `prepare_deposit`, `prepare_withdrawal`, `read_docs`.

- Base mainnet only, chain ID `8453`.
- Deposit and withdraw through the gateway, with partner ID `2` for agents.
- Before you send, check that `paused` is `false` and `priceFresh` is `true` in `/api/vault`.

## Rules

- Deposit only through the gateway's `deposit`. USDC sent straight to the vault or the gateway is not credited to you.
- Set a minimum out on every deposit and withdrawal, 0.5% under the quote.
- A withdrawal larger than the ready cash joins a queue and is paid on Autopilot's next pass, usually within 15 minutes.
- Money in Obento is not a bank deposit and has no deposit protection. Read [the risks](https://obentoapp.com/docs/risks.md) before you deposit for someone else.
